Douglas is a curator of Black Liberation spaces and has served as a community educator in various capacities for over 14 years. Serving in Los Angeles and now Humboldt, he engages students with culturally affirming resources, academic opportunities and tools that promote academic success and Black scholarship. Douglas graduated from Humboldt in 2015 with a Bachelors of Arts in International Studies with a focus on Development. He spent time studying the intersection of history, economics, politics, and culture in Santiago, Chile; the focus of his academic courses and time abroad serve as a framework through which he analyzes relationships between economic, political and social institutions and marginalized peoples. In 2018 Douglas became a Master Gardener in Los Angeles County; a passion he discovered while working on local educational farms in Arcata as an undergrad. He is currently enrolled in the Applied English Program at Cal Poly Humboldt.
